چکیده

Introduction: Epstein Barr virus (EBV), is a member of the genus Lymphocryptoviridae and Herpesviridae subfamily. It pervasive infects more than 90% adult population worldwide. In childhood early adulthood primary infection occurs through salivary contact. The majority children are asymptomatic, but some adolescents young adults can develop infectious mononucleosis with harmless clinical manifestations.
Objective: To analyze expression Virus (EBV) Latent membrane protein – 1 (LMP-1) in various histological subtypes gastric carcinoma.
Materials Methods: Out 43cases, 32 cases were proven to be malignant, out which 30 who had adequate data included study. materials processed sections cut at 5 microns. Hematoxylin eosin staining was done. Histopathological examination these done.
Result: most common presenting symptom associated Gastric carcinoma upper abdominal pain (epigastric pain). Both LMP-1 IHC positive showed low score when assessed using immunohistochemistry scoring system (used nasopharyngeal carcinomas). This may due older age group patients. For effective control viral cancer, there should rapid, sensitive, specific, cost-effective diagnostics assays management.
Conclusion: Hence our study justifies role EBV oncogenesis carcinoma. More elaborate extensive studies warranted further emphasize this theory.

EBV associated malignancies.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection has been implicated in the aetiopathogenic mechanisms of several neoplastic and non-neoplastic disorders. Although the precise mechanisms of the tumourigenic actions of EBV have not yet been fully elucidated, this virus has been strongly linked to subtypes of Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas (especially Burkitt’s lymphoma), HIV/AIDS lymphomas, nasopharyng...

Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)-associated Gastric Carcinoma

The ubiquitous Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is associated with several human tumors, which include lymphoid and epithelial malignancies. It is known that EBV persistently infects the memory B cell pool of healthy individuals by activating growth and survival signaling pathways that can contribute to B cell lymphomagenesis. Although the monoclonal proliferation of EBV-infected cells can be observed ...

Downregulation of microRNA-200 in EBV-associated gastric carcinoma.

EBV-associated gastric carcinoma is a distinct gastric carcinoma subtype with characteristic morphologic features similar to those of cells that undergo epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition. The effect of microRNA abnormalities in carcinogenesis was investigated by measuring the expression of the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition-related microRNAs, miR-200a and miR-200b, in 36 surgically res...

Genome-wide analysis of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) isolated from EBV-associated gastric carcinoma (EBVaGC)

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is linked to the development of a variety of malignancies, including EBV-associated gastric carcinoma (EBVaGC). In this study, EBVaGC was detected in 15 (7.3%) of 206 GC cases. To identify the EBV genomic variation, EBV genomic sequences isolated from 9 EBVaGC biopsy specimens were successfully retrieved, designated EBVaGC1 to EBVaGC9. By comparative analysis of these s...

Induction of lytic Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection in EBV-associated malignancies using adenovirus vectors in vitro and in vivo.

The consistent presence of EBV genomes in certain tumor types (in particular, AIDS-related central nervous system lymphomas and nasopharyngeal carcinomas) may allow novel, EBV-based targeting strategies. Tumors contain the latent (transforming) form of EBV infection. However, expression of either of the EBV immediate-early proteins, BZLF1 and BRLF1, is sufficient to induce lytic EBV infection, ...
